This is a very big deal.

We will be correcting drainage at a couple of spots on Garrett's Gulch 1) At the Yellow trail intersection 2) At the Lightning intersection

If enough folks show up we may split up and send a crew to do some hardening of drains on Jekyll & Hyde.

The tornadoes forced us to delay the IWC to October last year, but for 2012 we're back with a spring event.  New routes (44, 66, 78 & 100 miles) shift some of the climbing to earlier in the ride by going across Shades Mtn via the Coleman Lake area on the outbound leg, and in another big change we WON'T be returning to Tannehill via the very rural (but sometimes rough) roads thru the Cahaba Wildlife Mgmt Area and across the river at West Blocton.  Instead, after a loop on the great roads down in the Montevallo area, riders will backtrack a few miles past Helena and then finish via the old outbound route (through Green Pond). Rest stops will be at Helena FD #2 and at The Eclipse Coffee & Books in Montevallo (twice at each for the 100 milers).  Overall, thanks to the smoother roads and easier profile of the return route, the 2012 century will be a little bit flatter and a whole lot faster.  Best of all, after returning to Tannehill for your post-ride meal, you can get out your mtn bike and ride the trails, too - no extra charge!  The ride flyer, map, cue sheet and elevation chart are all posted at http://www.druidcity.org/club-rides/ ;;;; (scroll down to the Out of Town Rides section for the Ironworks info) and should be up soon, along with online registration, at www.bump.org.  One more thing to mention - all event proceeds will go to support more trail construction at Tannehill!
