<![CDATA[BUMP - Latest Forum Posts]]> 7093 <![CDATA[Mootsrider <i>3/07/2010 9:34 PM</i> <br> - WE NOW HAVE A LAKE TRAIL TO RIDE]]> I'm exhausted but happy because the LAKE SINGLE TRACK TRAIL is nearly complete and open to all riders for their enjoyment.  BUMP not only met its goal of building 2 miles of well constructed single-track in 2 days but roughed in 1.5 miles additional trail on the future multi-use trail as a temporary return trail and built two bridges.  We had over 70 volunteers on Saturday and over 40 today.  It was alot of hard work but well worth it.  I'm proud of the everyone's willingness to sacrifice personal time on what was a nice weekend to create something that will be enjoyed by so many for years to come. It was something to behold to see how well organize and efficient the two days went.  Congrates to all volunteers and BUMP for a job well done. 

I would also like to thank Stacey, Lisa and  Mary for organizing the event and making sure we were well fed. Thanks to all the trail leaders: Frank, Doug, Mike, Mark M., Jim, Corbin, Dee, Chris, Richard, Kevin.  In addition to Lisa and Mary, Teresa Gable who helped out soo much.  Jenny Camp, Laural Wierenga, and Kim Cross also helped out a lot. Thanks to Cahaba Cycle for their participation and donation of prizes.  In addition to the other sponsors, the next time you're looking for lunch, choose to eat at Chick-Fil-A on hwy 119 in Pelham and tell Barbara thank you for contributing the volunteer lunch on Saturday.  Thanks to Oak Mtn for the donation of  yearly passes. Thanks to Shelby and Pelham for constructing a portion of trail prior to this weekend, they laid the foundation that allowed us to be so successfull this weekend.              Sincerely, Mark Richman.

]]> 6952 <![CDATA[MONTYMTB <i>2/15/2010 3:49 PM</i> <br> - Annual Mulberry Gap Trip]]> Time to plan for our annual April Mulberry Gap trip.  This year we are going to make it a four day trip, starting on Thursday, April 22nd and ending on Sunday, April 25th.  The extra day will reduce additional driving time on the travel days and give us better options for checking out some different trails in the area.  The ladies at Mulberry Gap Bunkhouse www.mulberrygap.com have agreed to give anyone staying all three nights a reduced rate ($200 per person) which includes home cooked breakfast and dinner.  There are a total of 20 bunks available, and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.  As always, campsites are also available.

9:00 - Noon: Trailbuilding School classroom session at Bob Sykes BBQ in Tannehill Historic Ironworks State Park, 12653 Confederate Pkwy, Mc Calla, AL 35111

1:00 - 4:00 PM: Trailbuilding School field session at Tannehill Historic Ironworks State Park

Sunday:
10:00 AM: Trail work and / or group ride TBA
 
Anyone may attend the school provided they register.

]]> 7113 <![CDATA[Flyin Skeleton <i>3/10/2010 11:36 AM</i> <br> - RE:alabama mountain sports festival]]>  Honestly guys,  We are not sure how long the course is.  We have been working so hard on getting it all built in every way just now can you ride the entire course from one end to another without having to get off the bike.  We had to build the bridges, berms, rocks in place, wall ride, jumps, flag it etc...   You would lov eto know the exact length with guessing.  We are actually encouraging people to come ride it because it needs to be packed down.  You should all come down this weekend and look at everything.
