i doubt you would be a hindrance or upset anyone. it may actually be boring but i hope not. not really a "social" gathering. several people have expressed interest in attending for the wrong reasons.
please do sign up and come to the trail care crew school mar 13 at tannehill.
from Tom Sauret...
We have finally established a date for what we hope to be the first ever (that I know of) Alabama Mountain Bike Summit. Rob Grant, the Alabama State Recreational Programs Director, has found us a meeting place in Pellam, AL, on February 20th. It''s a Saturday. IMBA - SORBA will provide lunch. We hope that each of you will send one or two members to the meeting.
The main agenda items will be a discussion of creating a ride center in Alabama and building club capacity to develop mountain biking in the state. I want you all to feel welcome to suggest items for discussion. This will be an introductory meeting and you will decide the nature and future direction of this gathering. I will be on hand to facilitate the meeting, but more importantly to discuss and learn about some of the challenges and opportunities facing mountain biking in Alabama. So again, please forward me your ideas for this meeting.
Some help I need for you at this point identify and contacting others who should be on hand. I would like to have a representative from each of the organized clubs in the state. So if you know of anyone who is not on this list, please let me know so that I can contact them, or have them contact me. We are trying to keep this first meeting to about 20 - 25 people.
There are some exciting opportunities in the state and I look forward to meeting with you to learn more about you and your clubs and to find ways that IMBA -SORBA can help you succeed in creating more mountain biking in the state.
